Alumni Association

Mission
The ANNU Alumni Association (Guild of graduates) is to develop, maintain and sustain lifelong, mutually beneficial relationships between the ANNU Institute and its alumni.

The Alumni Association is dedicated to the advancement of the Institute as a centre of excellence in the Caribbean through the mobilisation of its graduates.

ANNUAMA currently comprises country-based chapters, as well as the Health and Human Development Alumni Chapters. Our Chapters are all eager to expand their membership and get more alumni involved in their activites, which include networking, personal and professional development, fundraising for ANNU, serving on committiees in the ANNU  governance structure, and helping to mentor, train and develop current students. Why not consider getting involved by joining the Chapter in your area?

The Office of Alumni Relations at The ANNU Institute in Barbados is here to help you reconnect and stay connected to ANNU.

Whether you want to stay informed of what's new, learn about upcoming events, volunteer to support alumni activities, help us reconnect with lost alumni, find a specific classmate, friend or professor, or give something back to ANNU Institute, we want to help you make those connections.

You can ensure that you will be connected, if you update your current contact information. Thanks for your visit!

We welcome your feedback. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have a question, comment or query or if you just want to say hello! Email annuinstitute@hotmail.com

FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION

Your financial contributions to UWI, small or large, are an important way of demonstrating your commitment to the future of UWI and the future generations of deserving Caribbean people.

ANNU has been at the heart of development of Caribbean peoples and the building of Caribbean societies for 12 years. Private contributions are vital to enable us to continue to provide a high quality higher education experience, which fuels the health ; human development ; social and economic development of countries in the Caribbean region.

Donations from alumni, the corporate community, foundations and other philanthropic and civic minded individuals and organisations worldwide are needed to help ANNU remain a competitive, world class institution and supplement the core funding from the fourteen governments in the region.

The Alumni Circle

The Alumni Circle is a giving club for ANNU Institute alumni and friends who are committed to ensuring that the Barbados Headquarters continues to provide a world class educational experience in an environment of excellence.

Members of the Circle pledge by Deed of Covenant to make a contribution of a minimum of US$360 over a minimum period of three years to the Barbados Headquarters.

Collaboration with external partners can range from funding of scholarships, Chairs, new facilities and joint research projects. The Business Development Office can help you to structure a partnership with ANNU Institute that provides naming and other corporate recognition opportunities and ensures that you realise your giving objectives.

The ANNU Institute Development and Endowment Fund (ANNUDEF) seeks your support in building a Scholarship Fund for students at the ANNU Institute. This Scholarship Fund will provide full-tuition scholarships each year to Barbadian  students who qualify academically but who may not otherwise be able to attend the ANNU Institute. This Fund will also provide smaller bursaries and/or grants to relieve financial hardship. ANNUDEF has embarked on a $200 thousand endowed scholarship campaign to financially assist a broad range of students in meeting their educational needs. We invite you to partner with us and support ANNU Institute’s student scholars.

ANNUDEF Responds to Students in Need

ANNUDEF intends this year to provide a Special Emergency Fund of $40,000.00 to assist financially challenged students. The aim of the Special Emergency Fund is to offer financial bridging assistance to students who have exhausted all opportunities and who are at risk of not completing their course of study at the ANNU Institute. The bursaries offered under this Fund are open to all undergraduate students. It is our hope that by making small bursaries available, gifted and talented students at ANNU Institute will be able to benefit from extension facilities which will give students room to make payment arrangements and motivate and focus them in their final year of study. The maximum award for a bursary is $3,000.00.

You can establish a fund or gift in your name or the name of a loved one.

Many students need financial support to complete their studies. Your gift to a deserving ANNU student can make all the difference to their lives. You may give a full or partial scholarship to assist with the cost of fees and/or living expenses. Your gift may be endowed to ensure that it remains in perpetuity and can be tax deductible, if established by deed of covenant.
